The See Belize Altun Ha Mayan Pyramids private tour is approximately three hours in duration inclusive of travel time and consists of a private guided tour of the Altun Ha Maya archaeological site which is located about 31 miles northwest of Belize City, Belize. Included in the price of the tour are transportation to and from the site, park entrance fees, and all applicable taxes.

The Altun Ha Mayan Pyramids and archaeological site tour commences with a pickup at your hotel in Belize City and continues with a road trip up the Philip Goldson Highway to the mile 19 milepost. During this portion of the journey, you will pass through some villages which are situated along the highway. You will also pass along the Belize River. The journey continues along a jungle lane up to the community known as Rock stone pond, and this is where the Maya archaeological site is located.

Upon arrival at the site, you will have the opportunity for a restroom break before the private tour of the Altun Ha archaeological site commences. The private guided tour starts with a visit to the Altun Ha visitor’s center and museum. Here you will get to track the history of the Maya and their activities in this part of Belize.

The tour then moves on to the plaza where your guide will tell you about the various religious and traditional events held in the various plazas within the 20-acre archaeological site before you move on to tour each of the magnificent pyramids which tower over the canopy of the jungle.

At the end of the private tour, you will get the opportunity to purchase souvenirs made by the villages of that community. The duration of the Altun Ha Maya Pyramids and archaeological site tour is four hours including travel to and from the site.

On a scale of one to five, the level of difficulty is two for the reason that it involves some optional climbing of the pyramids. Recommended dress code is light long sleeve shirt with light loose trousers and comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, and a cap or hat.
